The Square

The Square, formerly known as Pioneer Village, is a historically inspired makerspace allowing visitors to try their hands at gold panning and witness a working blacksmith forge in action (visitors can sign up for public classes/workshops hosted throughout the year). In addition, visitors are encouraged to explore a miner’s cabin and a genuine Southern Pacific Railroad caboose, and, in the future, participate in maker activities in Ashland Station – self-guided and at their own pace.
